Abstract :
For the past six years Colorado State University has been providing research experience to undergraduates in electrical engineering using the CSU-CHILL radar facility as a focal point. Typically, 8-10 sophomore/junior students from various universities in the US are selected for the ten-week summer program which is funded by the National Science Foundation. This paper describes briefly the capabilities of the CSU-CHILL radar and the chase van validation efforts conducted during the summer of 1996. The CSU-CHILL radar is a national facility for advanced research in remote sensing of weather phenomena and is open to investigators from all universities
