Abstract :
Transmission networks, is the basic network for all types of telecommunication business and is being constructed on a large scale. How to effectively and fully utilize the network resources becomes the great concern in network construction and maintenance. Meanwhile, the transmission operators also put their emphasis on how to build the transmission networks with clearer network organization, richer supported businesses, more convenient maintenance for operations, more efficient opening of circuits, more reliable network services and smoother expansion and upgrade. Therefore, the significance of optimizing transmission networks is increasingly highlighted. The traditional optical transmission network with complex configuration, low utilization rate of bandwidth, high cost and the poor expansibility, can´t meet the requirements of 3G transmission network 3G network is a new generation mobile network that supports not only voice services, but also multimedia services, focusing on data service. This paper take the local transmission network of a telecommunication in Linyi as an example. Through analysis of the present network architecture, availability of resources and existence question, the paper tries to find out the key problems and the planning of 3G-oriented local transmission for the future. Network security, extensibility and compatibility also being evaluated and analyzed.
