Abstract :
In order to simulate and evaluate human and organization factors, an organization-oriented simulation approach is proposed in this paper, which simulates design process as a continuous interaction process of design agents and environment. An integrated simulation model DTPRO is formulated centered on the designer´s intelligent agent model. Aiming at the characteristics of collaborative design work, the designer´s agent model is constructed based on INTERRAP hybrid agent structure, and the designer´s main collaborative behavior protocols are studied. To validate the approach, simulation experiments are conducted based on the simulation platform D-PDP. The autonomy and organization collaboration behaviors of the designers are described visually and naturally by simulation. The elementary simulation result also shows the accordance with the practical organization principles. The simulation approach provides a quantitative and dynamic method to evaluate and improve human and organization factors in collaborative product development process.
