  • Abstract
The service maintenance of a 3-phase induction motor is limited when compared with other types of motors. The overhaul process needs to be developed to ensure that the motor will perform in service without failure. This is achieved by undertaking a number of tests and examinations, as part of the overhaul operation to guarantee the reliability of he motor. This paper reviews a number of tests that have been developed, as part of the overhaul processes on the 3 phase induction motor to improve it´s in service reliability. This paper will also explore the areas that have been found to be problematic.
