Abstract :
The electrical breakdown mechanism in micro EDM is systematically investigated in this paper. Through the characteristic analysis of kerosene often used in EDM, based on the current research results, the source of charged particles, opening of transmission route for charged particles and the ionization process are studied. And the microscopic changes that various micro materials and energy interacts in discharge breakdown, spark maintenance and deionization processes are analyzed. Accordingly the reasonable interpretation of whole discharging process is proposed.
