Abstract :
User traffic may need to be monitored and enforced to comply with traffic parameters that could be established at the time of its admission to an ATM network. Although there are several traffic monitoring techniques that have been reported, the leaky bucket is the most widely discussed, The present paper gives a performance evaluation of a modified leaky bucket technique, with which the delay performance per cell is improved compared with the conventional approach. Also, traffic enforcement and monitoring location is discussed
