Abstract :
Cities are being equipped with numerous systems and applications to provide city monitoring and public services for city officers, businesses, and residents. There are emerging problems with data islands and function overlaps. A collaborative portal for digital city is proposed to apply service-oriented architecture into the planning, design, implementation and integration of digital cities, to facilitate the collaborative work and information sharing between applications, systems and users. The goal is to make cities responsive and provide powerful services to their residents. A model-driven collaborative development platform based on web services has been developed to facilitate the development of the city portal. A scenario of digital city service, i.e., traffic search service, has been developed and evaluated on the platform to integrate intelligent transportation system and GIS systems.
