Abstract :
The paper presents electromagnetic coupling of transient plane wave penetrating through slots or apertures perforated in one side of a shielded PC main frame. Several slots, simulating softdisc, CD-ROM, zip-disc and air vent, have been developed in one or more sides of the main frame. FDTD numerical method is applied to the studied model. Time-domain outputs are converted to frequency-domain responses using a FFT program for easy visualisation. Both time-domain and frequency-domain results are presented and discussed. The achieved results will be applicable to practical shielding enclosure design and electromagnetic interference protection.
