Abstract :
Because of the distributing and heterogeneity of grid, system monitoring is very important to the grid environment. Now, a lot of grid monitoring systems have been developed and a grid monitoring architecture (GMA) has been proposed by Global Grid Forum. This paper describes the monitoring system GMS (grid monitoring service). GMS is a general purposed, scalable and distributed grid monitoring service based on GMA. This paper presents information regarding the design and implementation of GMS. It describes the architecture, components, implementation and application of GMS. Finally, it summarizes the characteristics of GMS and figures out the emphasis of future work.
