Abstract
High-Performance computing has witnessed a tremendous growth and acceptance over the last decade primarily due to the availability of Clusters. The performance of these clusters hinges upon the communication interface. High performance communication interface always adopts user level communication method based on description. The description submits method would affect the performance of communication interface deeply. The methods based on DMA and PIO are two traditional methods for description submit, and can provide good performance for some communication mode, but all are not suited for different applications. The paper combines merits of these two traditional methods, and put forward a hybrid description submit method for user level communication. Experimental results shown the method which we provided can acquire good bandwidth and latency for different communication modes.
