Application and Research of Ontology in Workflow Knowledge Meta-model

Workflow management is the key technology in implementing the control of business process. The current workflow meta-model depends on specific parameters and implementation process, and lacks the exhibition of semantics understanding and knowledge involved. So, this paper proposes a workflow knowledge meta-model based on ontology, in order to support the combination of business modeling process and knowledge in the process. With the definition of exact grains meta knowledge object in workflow ontology, it can implement the separation of basic application´s objects and meta objects and customization of workflow process. Moreover, the paper proposes related definition, which will be of great help for the transition from process meta-model to workflow knowledge meta-model.
