Abstract :
In the present paper the “building” blocks of an “outside-in” re-engineering approach is described. The central characteristic of this approach is that it embeds work steps in an organizational decision making context. Thus, to describe a business process both a representation of organizational decision points as well as work steps is required. Decision points differ from work steps in that they control the work flow. A simple example illustrates how the various “outside-in” re-engineering connects can be used to represent business processes
