Abstract
Determining the most important affecting factors on performance of marine engineers is an essential and crucial process of executive ship management. It helps decision makers to focus on factors that have the highest weight and find the best policy to increase. These factors include; education quality and education level, environmental factors, milieux, climatic factors, etc., all of which are subjective. In other words, the problem can be analyzed in the form of multi-criteria decision making. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is an appropriate method for multi-criteria decision making problem since human judgment about the importance of the factors is generally abstruse and vague. In the literature, there are few methods that handle fuzzy pairwise comparison matrix. In this study, it is aimed to modify Chang´s AHP method and modified methodology is used for evaluatin procedure.
