Abstract :
The solidified body compressive strength and the leaching toxicity of sediment, cement and municipal solid waste incinerator (MSWI) fly ash with different proportions were studied to discuss the feasibility of using MSWI fly ash for sediment solidification instead of cement. The results show that MSWI fly ash has a certain cementitious activity, which can make solidified body have a suitable amount of water with appropriate incorporation, thus improving its compression performance. The compressive strength of solidified body which is confected by 20% MSWI fly ash instead of 10% cement in solidifying agent can reach 0.24 MPa at 7d and the leaching concentration of heavy metal is far lower than the toxicity standard, meeting the requirement of landfills. The solidified body can enter the solid waste landfill for landfill disposal.
