Abstract
Taxi service in Taipei Metropolitan is an industry which is full of information asymmetry. Due to taxi service distribution inefficiently, extra supply exists in terms of time and space in service area. In order to decrease the difference of supply and demand, this study proposes a cloud computing based taxi dispatching service- Cloud Taxi. All the driving behaviors are recorded in the system and are transformed into business insight for the taxi driver. Meanwhile, several innovative services are delivered to the end users. Finally, the information generated by Cloud Taxi would be a strong reference for government to foster and manage the industry.
