  • Abstract
For practical applications lower-order modes with linear or circular distribution that is uniform over the beam cross-section are not optimal. The unusual mode with inhomogeneous polarization over the beam cross-section is viewed as the result of vectorial superposition of the scalar modes with arbitrary complex coefficients. In this paper, many ways for obtaining unusual mode such as interferometric scheme, coherent superposition scheme, introduction of diffractive mirror, changing polarization direction to radial direction are discussed.
