Abstract :
This study aims to develop a passive type virtual reality glove system, which represents force sensations of grasping and manipulating virtual objects and enhances immersive feelings in virtual space. VR technologies have been recently actively researched for practical use, and some sensor gloves have been commercialized. However, force display gloves have not yet become popular. We aim to develop a passive force display glove and a supporting arm consisting of only passive elements like brakes. Such a system would pose no danger to the operator in the event of the controller malfunctioning.
