Abstract :
A technique to reduce the reverse recovery charge of a power thyristor is presented. To implement the technique, a current injection circuit was added into a RAMP test circuit. Additional current was injected into the thyristor prior to current zero from a pre-charged capacitor and results indicate a significant reduction in the charge.
