Abstract :
A timed Petri-net model of a distributed multimedia database architecture is presented. The model handles both static and dynamic media that cannot be achieved by static approach. Preliminary simulation results show that the model can be used to analyze the transient response and access time of a server as seen by a client workstation over a broadband network
