Experimental study of DM-to-CM and vice-versa conversion effects in balanced signal and power line filters
Abstract :
Modes conversion parameters like longitudinal conversion loss (LCL) and longitudinal conversion transfer loss (LCTL) are not reflected currently in technical specifications of most EMI filter assemblies and components, which leads to inability to predict correctly actual filter performance. It is proposed to employ balun test method for characterization of the following four important attenuation filter parameters, at least in the frequency band below 100 MHz instead only two employed normally nowadays: DM and CM filter attenuation; LCL(dB) and LCTL(dB).
