Abstract :
Over ten years´ experience of the R & D efforts on a Japanese language knowledge base is presented from the viewpoint of systems integration. Two types of integration problems were encountered: synchronic and diachronic. The solutions to these problems are presented and examined. The success of the project is cited in support of the validity of the solutions employed
