  • Abstract
In the spindle system supported by active magnetic bearing (AMB), beat vibrations will occur. The beat vibration will affect the stability of high-speed rotation and precision of grinding in the high-speed precision grinding spindle system with AMB spindle. In this paper, beat vibration phenomena is observed by inner sensor of magnetic bearing in the high-speed precision grinder spindle system, without any external equipment. Experiments are designed to determine the origin of the beat vibration. The mechanism of the beat vibration is analyzed. This study offers the foundation for the AMB´s active control of the spindle rotor to suppress the beat vibration.
