Abstract :
Conventional methods for detecting the signals generated by the human motion of walking cannot easily sense such signals. Further, these conventional methods have not been applied to the non-contact measurement of human walking. In this study, an effective non-contact technique for the measurement of human stepping is reported. An occurrence model for the electrostatic induction current generated due to a change in the electric potential of the human body is proposed. This model effectively explains the behavior of the shape of the electrostatic induction current flowing through the measurement electrode. The experimental results show that the cadence patterns differ between individuals.
