Abstract

There are 17 main power networks in China now. According to the statistics of 2000, the total power generation of China was 1368 TWh. It increases 10.98% to that of 1999. Meanwhile, the total number of high voltage power transformers (110 kV-500 kV) reached 14539. The installed capacity of transformers was 1089.952 GVA. The annual increase of the number and the installed capacity was 23.94% and 36.66%, respectively. Because of the environment of high load growth of electricity, Chinese electric utilities have to face a great pressure to keep our substation equipment work more reliably and more effectively. This paper shows the management and maintenance status of high voltage oil immersed transformers in China.
