            Abstract : 
As the scale of complex system is growing larger and larger, interferences from internal and outer system can result in the collapse of one subsystem in a complex system. This paper use brittleness analysis to describe the complex system. The descriptions of complex system are given at first. On the basis of analyzing the existing brittleness problems, description of brittleness are given as well. The definition of brittleness and its related theory can serve the control of complex system, and provide theoretical basis for the design and control of complex system. Because of the brittleness link entropy between subsystems, the whole system may collapse. We can adopt some effective methods to reduce the brittleness entropy. The methods mentioned in this paper are not mature and should be improved in future.
