Abstract :
Space solar telescope (SST) is a scientific satellite that employs FPGA (field programmable gated array) to preprocess the huge data gathered by its sensors. Since its high building and maintaining cost and poor working environment, it is a great challenge to ensure its working reliability. This paper proposes a new fault tolerant (FT) architecture based on reconfiguration technology, which applies the co-operation between TMR (triple module redundancy) and JBits tools to detect errors, locate faults like SEU (single-event upset) and FPGA hardware damages, and remove the faults by reconfiguring the FPGA chips. The availability of this new architecture is analyzed using Markov Process theory, and compared with some other architectures. Results show that the reliability is improved greatly under certain conditions
