Abstract
The paper focuses on the pressure of China´s consumption on resources and environment with the economic development. The paper shows that an increase in consumer demand places more pressure on the environment, there are distinct differences of economic and social circumstances from regions to regions; and when looking at the social formation, there is typical dual economic and social structure in China, featured with distinguished gap between urban and rural areas. Meanwhile, there are two ways to measure the stress which coming from the final consumption on the resources and environment, one is ecological footprint and the other is consumption pressure of the population. And which quantitative evaluate the pressure on the environment with different regions in consumptions.
