Abstract :
This paper presents a transceiver IC for 900 MHz passive RFID reader. The proposed transceiver was designed in a TSMC 0.18 mum CMOS technology with supply voltage of 1.8 V for 860~960 MHz passive RFID applications. The transceiver is including all analog & RF functions except AD/DA converters. The transceiver architecture was designed to support DSB/SSB/PR-ASK modulations prescribed in ISO/IEC 18000-6 Type C which is the international standard (IS) for passive RFID air interface. This paper also describes the radio specification for the use of our transceiver IC in a mobile phone
