Study on Public Facilities in Waterfront Cities The Design of Outdoor Rest Chairs in Cihu Lake Scenic Area, Huangshi City

Without quality public facilities, life of citizens would get more enclosed and less related while sufficient, well-planned and designed public facilities can prolong the time citizens spend in the public environment. This paper focuses on the design of outdoor rest chairs, an important kind of urban furniture and sets the specific areas for these chairs in order to attract visitors. Alongside the waterfront scenes, rest chairs make people stop to appreciate the beautiful landscape and enjoy themselves in nature. The communication and exchanges among people, objects and the environment, at the mean time, greatly facilitate the harmonious co-existence of the three parties.
