  • Abstract
The safety fieldbus transmits critical information which is related with an request to stop a power of machine from an intrusion of a hazardous area. Therefore, the safety fieldbus should have a higher reliability than the common fieldbus. Moreover, the user hopes to the safety fieldbus that it has the upward compatibility of the existing fieldbus, in order to utilize the equipment and the knowledge about his common fieldbus. From these requirements, the safety layer that is the functions to detect all errors of communication has been developed over existing common fieldbus protocol. Now, IEC SC65C/WG12 is going to develop new standard for safety fieldbus system as IEC61784-3. In this paper, we introduce the view of safety fieldbus, and describe an example of implementation of the safety fieldbus IEC6784-3-8 which is known as CC-Link Safety.
