Abstract :
In this paper, laser oscillation of a transversely diode-pumped Q-switched Nd:YVO4 slab self-starting loop resonator is presented. This system can allow high quality Q-switched output. An amplifier used is a transversely quasi continuous wave (QCW) diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 slab with a bounce geometry. The pump diode, an 80 W QCW single-bar diode array, is line-focused onto the Nd:YVO4 crystal. Experimental single-pass gain of >25,000 was obtained in our system.
