Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
By use of the ecological footprint model, this paper calculated the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of Jixi mining area in 2009. On that basis, the ecological deficit and surplus of this region have been analyzed in depth. The result of analysis demonstrated that the mining area´s ecological economy is unsustainable. At the last, this paper proposed some suggestions and countermeasures, which can be used to improve the sustainable development of this mining area.
