  • Abstract
Study on the friction torque of diesel engine is quite important to the transient fuel control. For the complexity of the system, there is no effective model the friction torque. After further study on the diesel engine, the friction torque is divided into several components and different model was built for each component. The model is used for multi-cylinder, four stroke engine. In order to prove the validity of the model, a multi-cylinder engine is used for the experiment. After measuring the output torque of the electromotor and the torque of the in-cylinder pressure, the average value of the friction torque is calculated. The model is proved to be validity from the experiment results.
