Abstract :
This paper presents a micromanipulation system based on matrix of piezoelectric elements in liquid. Each element could be independently actuated to generate a local vibration that distorts pressure distribution above a surface of the matrix. New pressure distribution creates a circulation of a liquid that is an origin of micromanipulation. The mechanism could be understood in the framework of Bernoulli equation. By sequentially switching on and off the piezoelectric elements, the particles followed locally vibrated area and moved on a surface of the matrix.
