Abstract
This paper presents that studying the performance of the Self-adaptive RBF neural network control method for the idle speed control. Designing a kind of a self-adaptive RBF neural network controller through controlling with the throttle valve and the spark advance angle for engine idle speed, and in the sudden variable load of idle speed is simulated based on Matlab/Simulink platform. The results show that the idle speed ripple value is less than 8rpm, and obviously reduce the engine idle speed fluctuation with controlling the throttle valve and the spark advance angle, which performance better than only by controlling the throttle valve, improving the stability of engine idling.
