Abstract :
This paper presents a design of gigabit MIMO WLAN system with international standardization strategy. The proposed preamble supports gaining the throughput while maintaining the backward compatibility with the IEEE 802.11a/n WLAN systems. It has comparable PAPR and preamble efficiency with IEEE 802.11n mixed mode preamble. Run test under residential channel model shows that our system can achieve throughput over 1 Gbps for 45 meter propagation distance with low BER.
