Abstract
An experimental measurement method used to build the two-port model of the silencer based on the least square method (LSM) was developed here. The quantitative relationship between the parameters of the transfer matrix of the silencer and the sound pressure measured at the certain position in an experimental duct system was researched. A silencer and a measurement duct system are designed and established to validate the measurement method. The experimental procedures are also referred. The measurement results match the theoretical ones very well.
