Abstract :
The energy need of the world drives us to find new sources of energy. Energy harvesting from solar energy has great interest not only from its potential, but also because it is a clean source. Understanding problems in designing a solar PV system has a great value. Manufacturing process leads to mismatch in the PV array. The mismatch error need to address while designing any solar PV system. Estimation of how much is going lost through mismatch is needed before hand. This paper addresses the problem in a step by step manner. It talks of a method to model a solar PV equation in MathCAD. It then finds out the statistical data through MathCAD and use Monte Carlo algorithm to find out error propagation. Finally it concludes how to use analytical method to generalize estimation of mismatch error. This analytic method can be a very useful tool to a system designer.
