Abstract :
The current research of the ultrasonic vibration assisted machining technology focused on the experimental analysis. And there are only simple theoretical introductions, which have not formed the systematic theory. Power ultrasonic vibration honing technology is more systematically studied from the kinematics point of view in this paper. And the four kinetic characteristics of the ultrasonic vibration honing have been summed up: power ultrasonic honing process is essentially the new process which is continuous at macro level and separate at micro level; which is an energy concentration, high-frequency impact of intermittent cutting process; and it is the process of the united pressure of the reciprocating cutting and ironing. In addition the roughness comparison test between ultrasonic vibration honing and general honing is also carried and the results show that the ultrasonic vibration honing have the significant effect of reduction in surface roughness.
