Abstract :
For manufacturing micro-structures on working surface of friction units, the ultrosonical combined electrical micro-machining is advanced as a new technology. The ultrosonical combined electrical micro-machining system is built and improved, which machining parameters can be adjusted in a wide ranges. The micro USM & EDM (ultrosonical combined electro-discharge micro-machining) and micro USM & ECM (ultrosonical combined electrochemical micro-machining) can be achieved with the micro-machining system. The round section micro electrodes in different sizes are manufactured by combined electro-discharge micro-machining. The micro-machining tests are carried. The process properties of the combined electrical machining are analyzed and studied. The possibility and the technology advantages have been proved, that is the good machining precision, lower cost and high efficiency. The friction characteristics of surface with round micro-structures are analyzed. The friction tests are carried. It is verified that friction surfaces with regular profiles round micro-pits have lest friction coefficient and wear. It is very helpful for improving the friction performances and prolonging working life of important friction units.
