Abstract
A new reconfigurable multi-band power amplifier (PA) is presented. The newly proposed band-switchable matching network (MN) with a reconfigurable stub makes the multi-band PA compact. The MN employs RF-MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) switches to change the operation band of the PA. According to the proposed scheme, a 0.9, 1.5, 1.9, and 2.5-GHz quad-band PA was designed and fabricated. The fabricated 1W-class PA achieved high output power and high power added efficiency as expected in each band. The results show that the reconfigurable PA contributes to future mobile terminals
