Abstract :
We analyse the performance of a new communication system combining both multitone (MT) modulation and direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) with a concatenated orthogonal/pseudo-noise (PN) spreading sequence. This system incorporates the advantages of both DS-CDMA with a concatenated sequence for multiple access capability, and an MT modulation technique for high transmission rate. The system performance is evaluated for the maximal ratio combiner. The performance of the proposed system is analysed under multicell, multiuser, and multipath Rayleigh/Rician fading channels. The proposed system is shown to have the more improved average BER and user capacity over the MT-CDMA system with a conventional PN sequence
