Abstract :
A description is given of the implementation of an adaptive controller that uses an orthogonal function space to represent the plant transfer function. The use of orthogonal filters permits rapid parameter estimation while maintaining robust control under a wide range of operating conditions. A description is also given of the mathematical model the development of a computer algorithm and the results of testing at two industrial sites
