Abstract :
Generating instrument loop drawings can be easy using PC-based software that provides consistent time saving designs while minimizing errors and maximizing throughput. The application presented provides a tool to maintain loop records and create drawings from a database. Checking is easier, and maintenance of wiring variations is improved for plant operations. Comparisons are made between manual and database-derived loop drawings. The application will run on a DOS-based personal computer with a hard drive. Examples using both AutoCAD or MicroStation and dBASE III Plus are described
