  • Abstract
Based on the similarity between the intelligent transportation and the biological collective behaviors, this paper proposes Vanet Mobility Model(VMM), a novel mobility model for urban vehicles, which is based on the evolution rules of collective vehicles. Simulation demonstrates that it is prone to cause a traffic congestion if envolution rules of vehicles are not satisfied, e.g., acceleration changes too fast, no matter increasing or decreasing. Besides, the proposed mobility model also offers more new opportunities for designing new simulators for VANETs that can potentially help the research of ITS, aiming to guide the traffic, reduce congestion and improve transportation efficiency.
