Abstract :
This document presents the results of a study developed in the north region of Colombia (Caribbean region). The study analyzed the lightning parameters based on the new antennas network called LINET. The lightning parameters under study are: return stroke current, polarity and ground flash density. These preliminary results will be the support of future investigations about the lightning parameters characterization and also could help to adjust the characteristic equations and typical values of the phenomena for lightning protection systems in the Caribbean region.
