  • Abstract
Now the frequency response analysis is used to detect the deformation of power transformer winding, this paper introduces a new way to calculate the root mean square of signal by using the RMS-to-DC converter AD637 in signal acquisition part. The application of AD637 in deformation detecting system of transformer winding is put forward at the beginning of this paper. Then the structure and function of AD637 is expounded. The conversion error is analyzed through describing the true effective value conversion process of AD637, and the standard connection of AD637 is draw up. The root mean square of signal can be obtained directly from the hardware by this method proposed, and it can be simply realized with high precision. So the method has certain application prospect.
