Abstract
Rough ontology is based on combination of the rough set theory and the ontology theory. It is an extension of ontology and is also an application of the rough set theory in ontology. So that the same as the structure of an ontology, the structure of a rough ontology is a tree; while a rough concept lattice can be transformed into a tree by some clustering techniques. For this reason, a method of generating a rough ontology is proposed: firstly constructing a rough concept lattice from a rough formal context, secondly transforming the rough concept lattice into a rough concept tree by clustering, thirdly mapping the rough concept tree to a rough ontology. Combined with a specific example, the detailed process of generating a rough ontology is illustrated.
