Abstract :
In this paper, a frequency synthesizer structure applied to homodyne LFMCW (Liner Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar is presented. The structure includes three PLLS and one DDS, which serves as the reference input of the PLL According to this structure, an excellent performance X-Band LFMCW frequency synthesizer with low phase noise (>-85dBc/Hz@10KHz) and low spurious (>-50dBc) is developed. Through multiplier chains, the designed frequency synthesizer could be used in Ka-Band LFMCW radar applications. The experimental results show that the structure is charactering a strong scalability and flexible frequency allocation.
