Abstract :
MATLAB is a famous scientific computing software, while Unigraphics is well-known for its powerful modeling ability. Both of them are popularly used in mechanical design and most of the engineering problem have to make use of them. In order to transfer data between the two running routines during design process, excel sheet is used as a medium to establish the connection between MATLAB data and solid model in UG software in this paper. Optimization design of worm drive is taken as an example to illustrate steps transferring the data.
